The US Collegiate Development camp this June will give players the exciting opportunity to experience first hand the wonderful Dartmouth rugby facilities, while under the tutelage of some of the country’s finest collegiate coaches.

Hanover, NH— US Collegiate Development (USCD), a program created to connect collegiate coaches with committed high school athletes, has confirmed the staff for the 2014 Boys High School Showcase Camp, June 23 to June 26, at Dartmouth College.
It is a head coaching team vast on international and age-grade experience. Camp director and former USA National Sevens head coach, Alex Magleby, will be joined by former internationals Paul Emerick (Tiger Rugby), Gavin Hickie (Dartmouth & Collegiate All-Americans), Matt Huckaby (Arkansas State University), Kimball Kjar (Brigham Young University), and Dan Payne (Life University), in addition to national age-grade coaches Tony Pacheco (Central Washington University & Collegiate All-American 7s) and Salty Thompson (High School All-Americans).
There will also be attending coaches for athletes to connect and work with from many of the top rugby and academic institutions, including American International College, Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Harvard, Middlebury, Norwich, Penn, Princeton, Yale, to name some of the many. This camp will be the prime vehicle by which many of these universities assess recruits for next year's cycle.
"I am looking forward to working with all the players and coaches on key elements of the game,” said Dartmouth Head Coach Gavin Hickie, part of the USCD staff. “The USCD camp this June at Dartmouth will give players the exciting opportunity to experience first hand the wonderful Dartmouth rugby facilities, while under the tutelage of some of the country's finest collegiate coaches."
"This is a great opportunity for me to evaluate young players in a part of the country that I wouldn't normally recruit," added Tony Pacheco of Central Washington University and the 7s All American team.
"I'm very excited to work with this group of coaches, these are coaches I respect, admire and hope to learn from."
The US Collegiate Development head coaching team have been involved with winning 8 of the last 11 national titles available in their respective competitions: Varsity Cup (2013 – BYU); USA Rugby DI National Championships (2012 – BYU, 2013 – Life U); USA Rugby Collegiate 7s Championships (2011 – Life U, 2012 & 2013 – Arkansas State); USA Sevens Collegiate Rugby Championships (2011 & 2012 – Dartmouth).
US Collegiate Development’s represented universities offer a geographic breadth for its student-athletes with Central Washington for those interested in the Pacific Northwest; the Rockies with BYU; the South with Life U out of Atlanta and Arkansas State just a short drive from Memphis, TN; the Midwest with coach Paul Emerick; and numerous prestigious colleges in the east, particularly a strong presence from the Ivy League universities.
More than 20 university coaches will be in attendance for 1-on-1 meetings, observations, and to build a rapport going into the future university application process. It is an equaled chance for high school students to meet and work with coaches from many of the top rugby universities, top academic institutions, and US national age-grade coaches:
